honey, I shrunk the WMD

via Billmon:

If it's possible to hide 30-plus aircraft for several months with 150,000 troops on the lookout, secreting vials of poison gas or anthrax has to be a cinch. (MIGs in the Sand - Wall Street Journal editorial, August 4, 2003)

Notice how:

25,000 liters of anthrax ... 38,000 liters of botulinum toxin ... 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent ... 30,000 munitions capable of delivering chemical agents ... (George W. Bush - State of the Union Address, January 28, 2003)

Has now morphed into the Journal's "vials of poison gas or anthrax."

This is disturbing. Given the incredible miniaturization technology the Iraqis obviously had, Saddam may be running around with his entire WMD arsenal in his shirt pocket.

don't forget how the search for Saddam's WMD has now morphed into the search for Saddam's WMD "programs". Any pedants want to crawl through UN 1441 again?
